Whats New!

From: "John Rebbeck"
Subject: I want to become more techy!!
Date: Tue, 2 Apr 2002 20:29:22 +1000

(Sorry about posting in multiple groups for anyone who is annoyed.)

I am a computer nut (like lots of people) and I use them really well as a
web developer. Even though I know a fair bit about computers I'm lacking the
deep down knowledge of how it all works, things like how windows
communicates with the BIOS etc. I want to know all the nitty gritty so that
I can then learn to program with them and use that knowledge (I'm learning
C# then will learn C++).
I also have little knowledge of the structure of DOS and Windows, I just
know how to use them. Is there any info available on this?

Can anyone direct me? I would rather start reading online THEN go buy books
if I need to.
Are there any good newsgroups for this sort of thing?

Cheers,
John
