We have a Windows 2000 server who is being backed up every night by another machine. I have a batch file created on this Windows 2000 server that stops a certain service by using a command line parameter. It works great as long as it is run from the Windows 2000 server. The problem is that I need to run this batch file from my backup server before the backup routine is run. What is the best way to remotely kick off this batch file before my backup? My backup software allow for a pre and post backup file to be run, so this part to actually run the remote script is good to go, I just don't know what the best way to remotely initiate this batch file is. Any ideas? Can you remotely schedule an event on another machine? Thanks, Fred
